UAE-WIDE

UAE people of determination card – Ministry of Community Development

An official card issued free of charge by Ministry of Community Development to people of determination, indicating that the holder is disabled and ensuring they receive the rights and services established under the Federal Persons with Disabilities Law No.29 ( 2006). Applications take five working days. You will need a medical report from an authorised body stating the existence and nature of the disability. The POD must be diagnosed by an official medical or psychological authority, approved by the Department of Care and Rehabilitation of People of Determination. Priority UAE ambulance dispatch/ emergency response – Dubai Police

This service gives people of determination in all Emirates who have physical, hearing and visual disabilities priority in the dispatch of ambulances and provides them with a prompt and appropriate response in emergency situations. https://www.dubaipolice.gov.ae/wps/portal/home/services/individualservices/patientDisablity

Fazaa Hemam card – Ministry of Community Development

Fazaa is normally administered by the Social Security Fund, under UAE’s Ministry of Interior, to offer services, discounts and benefits to government employees and UAE Nationals working in the private sector. However, Fazaa Hemam also offers the same benefits to people of determination and their ‘first-degree relatives’, i.e. parents, spouse, siblings and children. Successful application for membership allows members a Fazaa Hemam card and mobile app access. Members can get discounts on car lease, used car purchase car rental, and car insurance, get discounts on local and international hotels via Fazaa Amakin, and retail discounts including healthcare facilities, pharmacies, spas, restaurants, shops and even school fees. https://www.fazaa.ae/services/view/Fazaa-Hemam

du discounts for people of determination

 A 50 percent discount on monthly fee for people of determination on all post-paid mobile plans and 100 percent bonus credit on pre-paid mobile packs, up to AED100 per month. https://www.du.ae/personal/mobile/specialoffers/people-of-determination

e& (Etisalat) discounts for people of determination

Emirates ID free for POD – Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP)

Priority housing for UAE Nationals who are POD – Sheikh Zayed Housing programme

ABU DHABI

Abu Dhabi people of determination card – TAMM

People of determination in Abu Dhabi should apply through the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA)’s TAMM portal for the Emirate’s POD card or renew their card here. Abu Dhabi parking permit for people of determination – Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi Police provides people of determination with special permits to park in designated parking spaces available in public parking areas and exempts them from Mawaqif parking fees. Those who park illegally at spaces reserved for vehicles of people of determination will get a fine of AED 1,000. Abu Dhabi salik road tolls exemption for people of determination – Darb

People of Determination are automatically exempted from Abu Dhabi salik toll gates (Darb) once they have filled in their details on the TAMM portal. https://admobility.gov.ae/en/darb-exemptions

Aounak health card for people of determination – Abu Dhabi Department Of Health

The Aounak programme is a health card initiative that provides free care and treatment for people with special needs, including non-UAE nationals, as well as for orphans. Hafilat Abu Dhabi public transport smart card for people of determination

A free one-year permit for a person of determination and one companion, for trips within Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. https://admobility.gov.ae/en/pb-bus-service/hafilat-personalized-passes

DUBAI

Blue nol public transport card for people of determination – RTA

People of determination who are either resident or tourists to Dubai can apply for the AED50 nol card (valid for five years for residents) from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and then travel anywhere in the city for free via Dubai Metro or buses. https://www.rta.ae/wps/portal/rta/ae/public-transport/nol/choose-nol

People of Determination Taxi service – Dubai Taxi Corporation

Taxis (with red roof and universal blue icon logo on the back window and passenger doors) with lifts for wheelchair accessibility, a wheelchair inside, an artificial respiratory system as well as seats for accompanying passengers. These can be booked in advance via the Dispatch Centre in advance, and available at Dubai International Airport Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Dubai parking permit for people of determination – RTA

You can apply for an RTA parking permit using the People of Determination card issued by the Ministry of Community Development or a Sanad Card, issued by the Community Development Authority or a medical report that is less than six months old. Abu Dhabi and Dubai have an online link-up that allows POD to use designated parking spaces in both emirates without paper permits so they can easily move between the two emirates. Tourists with disabilities may also apply if they can show a valid parking permit for people of determination from their country of origin or a certified medical report (Arabic or English) less than three months old and that they will reside in Dubai for their entire UAE visit. https://www.rta.ae/wps/portal/rta/ae/home/rta-services/service-details?serviceId=16954390

Dubai road tolls for people of determination – Salik

People of determination are exempted from paying Salik road tolls in Dubai on one vehicle (belonging to the POD or a first or second-degree relative i.e. parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren). Dubai Sanad card for people of determination – Community Development Authority

The Sanad card is a smart card issued by the Community Development Authority (CDA) for people of determination to obtain services and facilities in the Emirate of Dubai. Dubai Esaad loyalty card – Dubai Police

This card is available to Dubai residents, including government employees, senior citizens, people of determination and golden visa holders – and ‘first-degree relatives’ (parents, spouse and children) – offering a variety of discounts across different sectors. The Esaad card provides extensive benefits and discounts from malls and retail shops to car dealerships, schools and hospitals and pharmacies. Some 10,000 offers are available from 5,000 companies in the UAE, and across 92 countries worldwide. Some of the best benefits of the Esaad card include a 10 percent discount on Emirates Airlines and 15-20 percent discount on Etihad Airways, as well as up to five percent off electronics at Sharaf DG, 10 percent at Carrefour on groceries and up to 40 percent off some international hotels. https://esaad.dubaipolice.gov.ae/registration/user (link currently not working; in the meantime call +971 4 383 3333 or email [email protected]).

Free Dubai Parks access with any POD card

Free access to public parks in Dubai, Dubai Frame, Children city, Dubai Safari Park, Ras Al Khor Sanctuary, for the person of determination and two companions.

DEWA discount for UAE National POD

A 50 percent discount for UAE POD citizens on new application registration, registration fees, final invoice issuance fees, clearance letters and meter inspection fees.

Northern Emirates

Ajman

Special taxis for people of determination with the MOCD POD card available for free in Ajman and at a nominal price outside the emirate.

Ras Al Khaimah

RAK SME – 50 percent discount for people of determination with the MOCD POD card.

Sharjah

Up to 20 percent discount for people of determination at Sharjah University Hospital.

Receive up to 20 percent discount on vehicle insurance in Sharjah from Aldawliyah Insurance Services.

Under the Ministry of Community Development’s Fi Al Shoufa initiative, Sharjah Police will provide access to the POD customer, wherever they are, to perform all vehicle licensing services and for all categories (whether citizens or non-nationals). Call 0505180111.
