UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared 2025 – the 54th year of union for the UAE – as the ‘Year of Community’.

This special year, with the slogan ‘hand in hand’, makes diversity, inclusion and innovation central to national progress.

The UAE’s Year of Community will…

  • Make diversity and inclusion central to national progress
  • Create inclusive spaces
  • Unlock the full potential of individuals and organisations
  • Support inclusive growth
  • Celebrate the cultural diversity that defines the UAE
  • Build a united, resilient society
  • Promote innovation (esp. in emerging sectors such as AI)
  • Foster skills development & nurture talent
  • Cultivate a culture of shared responsibility e.g. volunteering
  • Build intergenerational connections.

Making the announcement, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “I am pleased to announce 2025 as the Year of Community in the UAE. Hand in hand we will work to strengthen social bonds, foster shared responsibility, and unlock potential for inclusive and sustainable growth.

“To all those who call the UAE home, I encourage you to think ambitiously and act boldly in contributing towards improving your community and ensuring that our nation remains an inspiring model of progress and prosperity.”
