Press release: Aurora50 signs milestone partnership with General Women’s Union

Aurora50 has signed an agreement with the General Women’s Union (GWU), the national mechanism for women’s empowerment and leadership in the UAE.

This milestone partnership will see a consolidation of effort and reach in building the pipeline of female leaders for the executive governing boards.

It will impact not only the women leaders of today, and those following in their footsteps but, crucially, long-term corporate growth and profitability for companies operating in the UAE.

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, co-Founder of Aurora50, said: “We are delighted to have signed this collaborative agreement with GWU. It is an important step in accelerating diversity in UAE boardrooms and supports gender equality commitments under the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 by integrating gender perspectives at the board level in leading public and private companies.”

Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the General Women’s Union, added that the co-operation will significantly contribute in exchanging experiences, and in supporting initiatives, programmes and co-operation frameworks that are proposed and agreed upon to achieve the desired goals.
