#betterplacesforpeople: Appropriate to DEI as well as sustainability

Emirates Green Building Council's Annual Congress, Path to Net Zero, June 2022 - Diana Wilde of Aurora50 on panel

I was delighted to be involved in the Emirates Green Building Council’s annual congress event, Path to Net Zero 2050, in June.

Alongside discussions on Dubai’s 2040 urban master plan, decarbonising existing buildings and Ajman as the region’s first 15-minute city, our panel debated livability for all: creating inclusive and sustainable spaces.

The openness to diversity of thought at this event was amazing, and it was fascinating to discuss the interplay of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) with sustainable spaces.

One of the event’s hashtags, #betterplacesforpeople, is highly appropriate for DEI as well as for sustainability.

Aurora50 co-founder Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan was also there, giving the opening address to the congress as the Emirates Green Building Council’s honorary president.

My thanks to moderator Farah Yassine of EmiratesGBC Women’s Network and my fellow panelists:
