His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq Al Mari was appointed as the UAE Minister of Economy in July  2020. As the Minister of Economy, H.E supervises the promotion of competitiveness and  diversification of the national economy; the development of growth potentials; and the creation  of a business environment that addresses the requirements of the future economy, and bases  itself on knowledge, innovation and creativity. 

Prior to assuming his ministerial position, he held the position of Secretary General of the UAE  Cabinet during the period from October 2017 to July 2020, during which he supervised the  development of the Secretariat’s work in the Cabinet in order to support decision-making the  launch of important government initiatives and activities, and review government policies. 

H.E has previously held the position of Director General of the Executive O ce of His Highness  Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and  Ruler of Dubai, and was in charge of overseeing a number of vital projects in the Emirate of Dubai,  including the Hatta Development Project. 

Furthermore, H.E supervised the establishment of AREA 2071, which plays an important role in  the achievement of the UAE Centennial, in addition to the relaunch of the Mohammed bin  Rashid Center for Leadership Development and the Arab Strategy Forum. He was also appointed  as CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, and oversaw the launch of Dubai 10X, the second and third  editions of Dubai Future Accelerators, and the Artificial Intelligence Strategy. 

H.E Bin Touq was also the Executive Director of Excellence and Entrepreneurship in the O ce of  the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and supervised the Sheikh Khalifa Government  Excellence Program, as well as the launch of the fourth generation of the Government Excellence  System for the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Governmental  Performance. 

H.E Bin Touq holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from She eld University in Britain and  is a graduate of the UAE Government Leadership Program and the Mohammed Bin Rashid  Leadership Development Center.
