
H.E. Abdulla Ali AlNuaimi
Assistant Undersecretary for Communications and International Relations, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE)
H.E. Abdulla Ali AlNuaimi currently serves as the Assistant Undersecretary for Communications and International Relations at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), United Arab Emirates.
His current position at MOHRE is underpinned by over a decade of leadership experience from the private and public sector.
Abdulla’s career formally began in the banking industry accumulating a total of 8 years of expe rience spread across retail banking, corporate banking and financial investment. His public sec tor career began in the PlanningSector of the En vironment Agency in Abu Dhabi, where he led the development and implementa tion of an integrated whole-of-government environmental policy for Abu Dhabi. He also played an integral role in the UAE hosting the sixth edition of the World Ocean Summit.
In 2018, Abdulla joined MOHRE as Director of Bilateral Relations where he suc cessfully led UAE negotiations with labour sending countries across Asia and Af rica. As Director, he chaired Joint Committee Meetings with concerned govern ments to further the UAE’s vision in increasing cultural diversity, which resulted in the signing of more than 15 international MoU’s and Cooperation Agreements. He also led the development of UAE’s strategy to protect Temporary Contractual Workers in the UAE and worked closely with several labour sending countries to test the model.
In 2020, Abdulla was appointed as one of the youngest serving Assistant Under secretary’s for Communications and International Relations in the Ministry of Hu man Resources and Emiratisation where he was assigned responsibility for all in ternational relations programs pertaining to manpower, including human rights.
As Assistant Undersecretary, Abdulla was instrumental in leading the UAE’s nom ination and Chairmanship of the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which the UAE successfully secured for its 13th round in 2020, making it the first GCC country to do so. He Chaired the Forum throughout 2020, and continued to Chair the 2021 Troika in the absence of a chair.
As of 2021, and in addition to his current position, Abdulla is also the Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue, the national focal point to the International Labour Organization, and the International Organization for Migration, and a member of the UAE Gender-Balance Council.
